On Oct 31 i visited K7BMH at the Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day.
I attempted 4 contact tries between about 1:30 and 4, on 145.210 but had no responses.
I inspected all the boxed equipment stored in front of the desk. I restacked all the equipment to the side of the desk in order to clear some operating space , and clearly marked the front of each box for easy ID.
I checked in with Rebecca, Acting Emergency Co-ordinator, and explained who i was, the station, and the HIDARG net. She was on duty at the ambulance station and i had a good visit with her and the other attendant. They received me well and appreciated my briefing them on K7BMH, and the services and capabilities of HIDARG and amateur radio in general. While we were talking radio stuff she asked me if i knew why her pager didn't work in some locations in the building. I told her i really didn't know enough about their paging system to comment intelligently. I told her i thought Wheeler Communications held the contract for Grant County communications, but that i wasn't sure. I suggested she talk with hospital administration.
I was glad to see the folded dipole there. I have two PVC pipes available, previously used at a former QTH. I'd be glad to donate them and help get the HF capability up ASAP.I also have about 250 W worth of solar panels available that i'd be glad to donate, as well, in case we install battery backup, which i'd recommend.
I hope to visit the station at least once a week, and attempt a check in. Unfortunately, i don't have my own transportation anymore , and Grant County Transportation does not run past 4PM, so I'd not be able to be there for the Tues 7PM check in. I do that from home. Unfortunately, i am right now at the Walla Walla VAMC and will not get back to my home QTH until 8PM. I will attempt a check- in ,in case anyone is still monitoring at that time.
I'm sending this report from the VAMC, as i wait for my appointment. As i don't have a computer at home yet, the E_message to you is a rare occurrence. Some day when i get rich again, or Social Security takes a mighty leap (YEH< RIGHT)I'll be able to crawl out of my cave and get with the progam.

Will be doing some site checks from Eagle Peak..(not much of a peak as I have found out) And Fall Mountain, I understand that at Fall Mountain, there is a ham repeater there that the Grant County Sheriff saw fit to turn off for some reason. (At least that was what I was told by Gary several months ago,It is in the Sheriff’s dept. building…a new sheriff in town will possibly change that.) Anyway I will be working Mt-Steph on the HiDARG system as appropriate while on Hwy26Should be heard while traveling….. 8am to 10:30amAnd around 1pm to 2pm for the site visits of Eagle and Fall Mountain.Heading back via Seneca/Paulina hwy pack to Prineville.Doing checks in Glass and Pine, as some of their footprints covers parts of that road. ----------------------------------------------------------------73
