Subject: [HiDARG-MEMBERS] Pole Pedal Paddle... Radio Help needed May 20th.
Hi, Thank you for volunteering to help out with the health and safety of the Pole Peddle Paddle event on Saturday, May 20, 2017. A few things that I need to know:1. Your T-Shirt Size ______2. What Type of Radio you will be using?a. Hand Heldb. Mobilc. Mobil / CrossBand3. Your Ham Radio Class (Technician, General, Extra Class)4. Your phone number that you will have with you on event day5. A small lunch is provided. Let me know if you have a Vegetarian preference.6. If you have a preference for a location, let me know and I will try to accommodate you! Here is the ‘Skinny’! On event Day, Saturday May 20th, we meet at the Original Pancake House on Colorado Blvd. If you would like to participate in a ‘no host’ ‘dutch treat’ breakfast there, we meet at 6:AM. If you would not want to do breakfast there, we will meet at 7:AM in the Original Pancake House parking lot. There I will hand out t-shirts, lunches and ‘Radio Help’ signs and your assignment! The event starts at 9:AM and our part is over before 3:30 in the afternoon. (Unless we have some ‘cute’ stragglers……ugh.) At this time, we will be using Bill Johnson’s Sand Shed N7RGB, repeater. 145.490 - no PL tone Simplex frequency is 146.420 mHz Our goal is to provide health and safety for the bicycle riders coming down from Mt. Bachelor on the highway coming into Bend. Some things that might come in handy:1. Bring some water for your self.2. A broom has come in handy for any gravel on the road in your area.3. A bicycle pump if you have one. DO NOT go out and buy one. Call me or email me if you have any questions and of course email me with the answers to my ‘need to know’.
