[HiDARG-MEMBERS] Change of Bylaws to be voted on during the Nov Annual Business Meeting.

As per our Bylaws, the November Nightly meeting this Thurs, is also our
annual business meeting.

During this meeting we elect officers, conduct any formal business, give
reports, and accept changes to the ByLaws as appropriate.

The following change has been proposed. 

The primary reason for the change is two fold...

1.       I have been tracking dates when members have paid their dues for a
number of years.

2.       When we get the members page implemented on the website, the site
will track membership status, email notices

of when dues are about to expire and allow members to pay their dues on
line.

 

Based on these advantages it then makes sense to have membership be a
subscription option rather

than just an annual option. WE are preserving the annual option as a lot of
members have paid dues in advance.

And that is when they normally pay their dues anyway.

 

The following change in our Bylaws has been proposed, and will require
2/3rds of member votes at this Thurs meeting.

ARTICLE 5 - ANNUAL DUES

 

(a)    Annual membership dues will commence January 1 of the year following
the Special or Annual Business Meeting. 

 

(b)    NEW member, dues will be pro-rated for those joining HiDARG in
midyear, unless they opt for the subscription option.

 

(c)    Subscription dues option. Membership starts on date of payment, and
expires 1 year later. 

         Members will be notified prior to their membership expiration date
via email or letter. 

         HiDARG secretary will be responsible for tracking and expiration
notices.

 

(d)          The board will recommend the annual dues amounts needed to
conduct business for the Corporation.  Then, by the majority vote of those
eligible members present at the Annual Business meeting, may levy upon the
general membership such dues or assessments as shall be deemed necessary for
the proper conducting of the business of the Corporation.  Non-payment of
such dues or assessments shall be cause for placing the unpaid member in
delinquent status with a loss of HiDARG benefits and privileges. Delinquent
members may return to full membership status by paying dues owed.
