I have worked a ham at Timberline lodge on .52 with my handheld, from my house. Lots of fun to get that contact. Not a SOTA activation, but still exciting.

Subject: K7ATN Roves for January VHF Contest It's the January VHF Contest coming up on the 19th and 20th. This may already be on your calendar - I hope it is! I will be roving as K7ATN/R and will be in your 'neighborhood' for a while on Saturday evening. I will have 6m through 13cm - SSB and FM and would be glad to work you and your friends on any and all VHF bands. Get that old 220MHz HT out of the closet and see if we can hear each other. It could be a chance for folks to work VHF and UHF bands that are otherwise quiet. Here's my approximate schedule:Saturday ~6pm CN95 (Mt. Hood - Timberline)Saturday ~730pm CN94 (to edge of CN94 along Highway 26)Frequencies frequented are 50.125 and 144.200 for SSB, 146.52 and 223.5 for FM. Exchange is grid square. 73, Etienne-K7ATN/R
