Question on Contest Band Plans... Recommended freq for this contest for 80m is 3850.
Isn't there a recommended band plan for the bands that include a range of freqs? such as for 80 m, the contest is not just 3850, but the entire segment from 3850 to 4000??

Got it thanks. Yep programmed the radio to show UTC time on the radio's dial/face, not our time zone...

ok, that'l be fine...here's the one from their website (attached)...you need to log each of those columns. those are required log info. Also, You'll want to create a "dupe" sheet. not required but way easier, ask Randy, he knows a good way to format it...one for each band
EVERYBODY....Be sure to use ZULU time!

FYI, I'll be using paper log... didn't have time to setup logging software and learn before today... and at this point, I don't have a computer setup next to my HF radio in the garage shack...so I'll just plunge in and keep track of contacts today via paper...

Sorry Max, typo on email, all ok on registration...it was abt midnight last night when I did it...after falling asleep watching movie 🙂
I'm hoping my foot switch will work today...new setup, we'll see
Is anybody logging on paper? I need to know! It needs to be converted afterwards and we only have 5 days to submit.
Make sure that you have read the rules...go to their website and read them carefully. All those Caribian and Central American countries are multipliers! 47? all 13 Canadian Provinces too!
You CAN work the same station on each of the 6 bands...that would be 6 QSO's and 6 multiplier opportunities.
That's 660 possible multiplier opportunities!
Go to their website and look under the paper logging information..you can print the Multiplier Check List.
Any questions? All good 👍
I'll be available via text 541-280-0226 and email..
Also 6.94 rptr...(with the earphones on, I might not hear the 2m speaker first time..try again)

OK, team "The Unbeatables" is registered with the National Contest Journal (NAQP).
K7SQ, N7GND and myself W6RA are registered. We can add two more hams if anyone is interested.
A third team would be nice also.
Pray for a new sunspot or two to show up tomorrow.

I believe you're to submit your own separate logs under your own call sign....by pre-registering each member at their site Before the contest starts, they will know to do the combining and apply each team member's scores for the correct team finals.
It's probably time to assign team members to a specific team. So far, I'm hearing Randy as team manager with Joe as The Unbeatables...I'll be another team manager..
That leaves that I'm not sure of team assignment status:
Mike D N7GDN
Ray KG7AV
Chuck W1HC
Max KF7MAX not sure
let's get everybody signed up to a team...and then the two team managers can register their teams tonite?

In spite of our winter weather, we had a good turnout last night at our pizza social. Randy Tomer, W6RA, shared some great information about contesting in ham radio along with several of his award certificates. We all learned a few things as he talked about his experiences in contesting. Nice job Randy.
We continued the discussion and decided to get involved in this Saturday's North American QSO Party contest. (see previous thread?) This HF contest allows for Team Competition and so far, we have two partial teams started up..hoping for a third. There seemed to be some concurrence among a few Board members present that there could perhaps be some Club recognition to our highest scoring team and that this could be the start of many future contests and such within the club. As Randy explained, not all contests are HF frequencies. Many of his favorites were VHF. In fact, there are several VHF contests coming up soon that we can get involved in...and, I hear of our own HiDARG contest being developed for this year..all modes, all bands, all licenses...ask me, I'll share :)
So, here's the deal:
We can have up to five members on a team so we're looking for some more players. Here's who we have so far:
Randy W6RA
Joe K7SK
Mike K7GND
Mike KB7KLT
We'd like to have at least three teams to enter with three members on each team to start with. So we need some players. Each member of a team operates from their own station (home/mobile/club trailer/borrowed). No experience needed, just a willingness to jump in and play. Maximum allowed operating time is 10 hours..but, you don't have to play all 10 hrs. If you only have a few here and/or there, that'll work just fine. The idea here is to just have some fun while playing in a contest. You don't have to use a special computer program for logging, paper logging will work (we'll easily convert it after the contest)
Each team has to declare a Team Manager and their Team Name...Randy and I are the first two Team Managers...
Names? HiDARG Rockchucks? HiDARG Thunder Eggs? HiDARG Rattlers? Being a rock collector, I like the thunder egg one myself, but...check out last years entry names at the NCJ site https://ncjweb.com/naqp/
All ya gotta do is reply to this thread and you're on. The Team Managers need to get their Team Entry in before the contest starts tomorrow morning. So sign up today!
