I agree with Ernest on the temporary use of paracord for hoisting
antennas. I use it all the time for portable use, events, etc. If you
leave paracord wrapped around a tree limb for any length of time it will
either become part of the tree or the tree will eventually saw through the
cord. For a more permanent solution - use stainless steel cable In a
protective hose for chaffing purposes to secure a pulley at your anchor
point and then use whatever rope or cordage you want.
Dacron or nylon are good choices in general, UV resistance is A MUST HAVE!!
