MFG Octopus holding 8 ham sticks.
2 sticks constitute a dipole antenna, so I have 4 bands.
80, 40, 20, 10
Sticks can be put on a GOOD mag mount as a single vertical…for mobile ops.
Swap out sticks for different bands….may do that for the 7th area QSO party.
Tuning…..
First off if you do not have a graphing antenna analyzer
it will be extremely difficult to tune……..
Even then it was a real mother bear to say the least.
Spent 2.5hrs doing it yesterday……
I first put up each band one at a time….tuned them all separately.
Then put them all up… that kicked things around…
Except for 10meters….very broad banded there….
but the SWR would bounce from 2-1 to 1-1 depending
on what I was tuning on 80 or 40.
Change 80, 40 would change, fix 40 80 would change…
I am in the middle of 75meters with about 25k either side 1.5 in the middle, 2.5 on the edges…
40 meters is near the top end with about 75k either side before I hit 3 to 1
20 is very reasonable from about 14.250 to 14.350 at about 1.5 up to 2 to 1
I will be mounted on a 20ft mast once I get done fine tuning things.
I am told things will be different up there as well.

2 PACKS of 5 sticks $220 covers 80-40-20-15-10 from Shark.
You can buy individuals about $20 for single stick.
They come pre-tuned for a Mag Mount.
