I suggest using a bulkhead connector (SO-239 coaxial). I purchased them at American Radio supply. (www.americanradiosupply.com)These connectors come in sizes from 1 inch , 2 inch, 4 inch, 8 inch, 12 inch.Just drill hole in wall and secure with oversize hex nuts. Connect the antenna lead from antenna to bulkhead connector. Inside the structure (home), connect a short coax to the bulkhead connector and to the radio or amplifier. Be sure to protect the connections, especially on the outside with anti corrosion “grease” and seal with silicon tape.Mike AD7GCad7gc at arrl.netSent from my iPadOn Mar 2, 2022, at 20:37, James D <james at demeesterfamily.com> wrote:Hi all,I’m a new member. Thx for having me. I made general last year and tinker in ham on and off. I’m building a house and was thinking I’d run a coax  joint or span through the wall so that i could string up an end fed 1/2 wave down the road or put up a vhf antenna in the attic.Besides grounding and all of that, what do people suggest I do to be able to feed from outside?  I’ll probably connect when i’m operating and disconnect the rest of the time. Walls are 10” thick.Thx for any comments. I know this topic is HUGE. Just looking for a start in the right direction. I live in an HOA community on 2 acres, so have to be somewhat discrete overall.ThxJimKD8VCZ_______________________________________________HiDARG-Members mailing listHiDARG-Members at hidarg.orghttp://hidarg.org/mailman/listinfo/hidarg-members_hidarg.org_______________________________________________HiDARG-Members mailing listHiDARG-Members at hidarg.orghttp://hidarg.org/mailman/listinfo/hidarg-members_hidarg.org
