[HiDARG-MEMBERS] Net Control Operators (NCOs) for the HiDARG Nets

Greetings everyone,

Yesterday (Tuesday 5/24/2022) we didn't have a Tuesday Repeater Net because
nobody signed up for Net Control duties.  WE have a list of NCOs however if
you look at the schedules, you'll find that the same 5 or 6 people do all
of the nets even though we have at least 20 names on the NCO list.

At the luncheon meeting today, we discussed several ways to approach the
problem.  One thing that was mentioned was the difficulty in finding the
link to the schedule.  To help correct that issue, I have added the current
link to the HiDARG Nets page on our website.  That way the link to the
schedule and a link to the current script will be co-located on the NETS
page.  I will update the schedule link at the beginning of each new year so
the link is current and up to date!

A second suggestion was to send out the link again and that is the purpose
of this email!

For those of you that are interested but not currently listed on the NCO
page, the schedule is set up to allow for a bit of automation in the
spreadsheet.  The dates for the nets are already supplied, all an NCO needs
to do is go to the specific net schedule he/she is interested in (these are
the tabs at the bottom of the page and there're a bunch of them now so you
will probably have to scroll the list to find the specific net you want to
do.  Click on the appropriate tab and then select the date you want.  If
there's no one listed, go ahead to the name cell and click on the little
down-arrow, this will give you a drop-down list of the NCOs - you select
your name and then go to the callsign cell which also has a little
drop-down arrow to allow you to select your callsign from the list.  To
allow the club to collect statistics, a few years ago, I started setting up
the schedule to collect the number of check-ins and a space for any notes
on the net that came up.  Each schedule will also give a running total of
the check-ins for the year to date.  Anyway, once you have your name and
callsign on the date row for the day you want to do the net, you are set.
All I ask is that after the net, you visit the schedule and plug in the
number of check-ins you had for that net.  That way, we can report the
statistics to date and at the end of the year and see what kind of progress
we have had in that regard!.

If you run into troubles with the schedule spreadsheet, contact me and I
will get you all straightened out and hopefully fix any issues that have
come up.  I can usually fix most problems and if not, we can always revert
back to an earlier version of the sheet - so let me know if you have any
problems!

list is current!
