I have evaluated Doc's qualifications for President of HiDARG's Board of Directors. Here are some noteworthy activities he has undertaken this year:

• He has been actively involved in various events such as Dog Sled, Nets (as a weekly host of 220), and social gatherings (like the HiDARG BBQ in September, where he served as GrillMaster). He has also been mentoring new members, including LeAnn, Karma, and JeffJ. In addition, he has helped two people set up their first stations.
• He has fulfilled his duties as the Vice President, covering for the President and/or Secretary at Jake's and representing HiDARG at SeaPAC. He attends weekly meetings at Jake's and monthly Business Meetings. He also met with Deschutes County emergency manager Nathan Garibay to maintain our connection. He has enhanced HiDARG's external PR by establishing and growing our Facebook presence.
• He has also been involved in VE duties with Joe Barry, and assisted in the removal of a complex mast and antenna at AJ Parry's with Tony Partain.
• He has hands-on experience in disaster recovery, having utilized his combat medic training during Hurricane Katrina.

Although Max and Brady have provided credible leadership in the past, I believe that HiDARG is either growing or dying now. If you have not yet cast your ballot, please note Doc's leadership contributions this year that will spearhead growth. I am confident that Doc will draw out the best from our Board of Directors and the HiDARG membership.
