Donar would prefer it be donated to a "Young Budding Ham" or HiDARG can sell
off to interested parties.
He was given equipment when he first started and would like to pass it on.
Equipment has not been used in many years, but was in working condition when
stored away.
Ham is no longer active. But looking at the list below..... a "Shack in
the Box" comes to mind.
Any "young budding" hams who want to dive into HF that are members?
Do any members know of any "ybh"'s that want to get their general and move
to HF?
Pearsonally I would prefer we donate it to a YBH if they are a member of
HiDARG.....
I would NOT want to donate it to anyone and see it ultimately get sold off
by them, ie caveat to
the "DONNEE" that the items can't be sold off.....if they upgrade an item,
return the item it
replaced back to HiDARG. Thoughts from others???
The rigs reviews on eHam.net are good and its value can be in the $200-$350
range if in good condition.
With the companion speaker, Digital display, VFO-520S, that could alone
command $500
Along with the rest of the items..... were are looking at a ready to go
system for around $800-$1000.
More info as I get more details.
I might mention that we do not want to power the unit up until we can fully
test.
The caps in the rigs ps most likely need to be replaced, if the VFO runs off
the rigs PS, it should be fine.

SOME info on the 520S..... it can support newer digital sound cards/etc
The next generation after the TS-520, this model added 160M coverage, phone
patch input and output
which also allowed recorders and other audio connections such as modern-day
sound card
connections for PSK to be simply plugged into the higher-level RCA jacks.
